I hear it all the time...."I don't know how you do all you do"....but somehow I just figure out a way to make my chaos work for me. So why not add something else to the mix and write a blog?!
So the next question is....what the heck will I write about? My life is a hectic mess of hodge podge. I'm a wife, a mother, farm co-owner, social worker, adjunct instructor at a community college, community volunteer, and the list goes on and on.
I've been told we should do a reality show about the farm, but truthfully, I don't think I'd be flattering to the camera most days because that would require me to fix my hair and find semi matching clothes....farm wear fashionista I am not.
So I guess the best place to start is at the beginning....sort of....because that would be boring and take way too long to tell.
Ellis Farms i.e. the one operated by myself and the hubby, has been in existence since around 2014. Many moons ago, there was a farm operated on the property that was started by my husband's grandfather, but I won't delve into the history here. Since we started our farming adventures, we've had alot of good days, alot of bad ones, and some somewhere in between. We've been mad, we've been happy, and we've shared some tears here and there. We can tell you a whole lot of what NOT to do when running a small farm. We don't claim to be perfect but we do the best we can. I pray that this is all for a purpose, that there is some end game, a reward of sorts in the end.
I'm hoping to use this blog as a way to pass what I hope is useful information to others, to bring a good laugh, or just to give my brain a place to regurgitate my thoughts. Yeah...that doesn't sound pleasant at all. But....I really do hope that you enjoy reading what I pontificate about and if you don't...well that's ok too.
Until next time,
Audra
