3 Years Later- Life Continues as a Busy Wife, Mom, and Farm-Her

Can you believe it's been three years since my last post? Time flies when you’re juggling the roles of a mom, a full-time employee, and a farmer. Life has a way of keeping us on our toes. I apologize for not keeping this blog updated. Between the chaos of daily life and the demands of running Ellis Farms, I’ve struggled to find time to write. But I’m back now, ready to share a glimpse into our world and the journey we’ve been on.

Life on the farm is never dull. We work hard to raise the best pasture-raised pork, providing our community with top-quality products. We have expanded into more farmers markets, which has really been a blessing. We love meeting new people and sharing our life with them. The connection we have with our community means so much to us. Knowing that our efforts contribute to their health and well-being motivates me to push through even the toughest days.

As a busy mom, I often feel torn between home, work, and the farm. Our youngest is now a senior in high school. It’s hard to believe the time has flown by so fast. Just yesterday, I was cheering at tumbling class and dropping her off for her first day of school, and now we are budgeting for graduation and college. This experience has taught me the bittersweet nature of watching your child grow up. It’s a beautiful journey, full of pride and nostalgia.

I’ve come to realize that blogging is not my strongest suit. I find social media posts easier for sharing snippets of our life in real time. Capturing a moment to share instantly feels less daunting than writing a full blog post. Still, I appreciate the deeper connections and storytelling that come with blogging, so I’m making an effort to find that balance again.

Managing my time effectively is one of my biggest challenges. Between work commitments, farm chores, and family activities, there never seem to be enough hours in the day. I’ve learned to prioritize and delegate tasks where possible. For example, our kids are a big help in farm chores, which not only helps us, but gives them valuable life lessons. Yet, there are still days when I feel like I’m running on empty. This juggling act resonates with many of you, I’m sure.

Amidst this chaos, I have found peace in the simple pleasures of farm life. Tending to the animals and working the land ground me. Each morning, as I check on our pigs, I feel an overwhelming sense of purpose. Knowing they are raised with care and respect makes every sleepless night and long day worth it.

I’m excited to continue sharing more about our farm, the challenges we face, and the joys we experience. I want to create a welcoming space for fellow farm wives and working moms to gather, share stories, and support one another. We’re all navigating the beautiful chaos of life together, and I believe that our community's strength will help us through.

Taking time for self-care is also essential. Busy moms often fall to the bottom of the priority list. I've learned that dedicating time to myself is vital for my well-being and that of my family. Whether it's enjoying a quiet moment with coffee or taking a quick walk around the farm, finding little pockets of peace can make a huge difference. Research shows that just 10-15 minutes of self-care can noticeably improve mood and reduce stress.

As I conclude this post, I want to thank you for your patience and support over the years. I know I haven’t been the most consistent blogger, and I truly appreciate those who have stuck around. Your encouragement means the world to me, and I’m eager to reconnect and share more of our journey here at Ellis Farms.

Life may be hectic, but it is filled with love, laughter, and the occasional chaos of being a mom and a farmer. I look forward to sharing more stories, insights, and experiences with all of you. Here’s to embracing the beautiful mess of life and the adventures that lie ahead!

Thank you for joining me on this journey. I can’t wait to hear from you and learn about your own experiences as busy wives, moms, and farm-hers. Let’s keep the conversation going!

Just us....no frills....but all love.
